Carrie The Associated Press released its preseason Top Twenty Five today, and B Y U lands at number fourteen. [i] That is the second-highest preseason ranking in program history. [i]

Cosmo Second-highest ever. [i] That is a real expectation now. [] And the timing could not be better, because the football team just held its first fall camp scrimmage at LaVell Edwards Stadium. [f]

Carrie One hundred and two plays. [f] Kalani Sitake said the offense won the scrimmage, and he was not shy about praising it. [f]

Cosmo Sitake has also been vocal lately about needing more resources for this program. [f] When your team is ranked fourteenth in August, that conversation gets a lot louder. []

Carrie One name to watch on that offense, transfer receiver Kyler Kasper, six foot six, in from Oregon. [f] He has talked openly about the frustration of his last four college seasons. [f] He wants this one to feel different. []

Margaret On the golf course, Drake Harvey is still alive at the U S Amateur Championship at Merion Golf Club. [f] He beat William Love in the round of sixty-four, two up with one hole to play. [f] The lead changed hands several times, and Harvey moves on to the round of thirty-two. [f]

Carrie And listen to who scored. [] Mattyn Summers-Oviatt got the first goal. [f] Then true freshman Brynnli Tolbert scored the game winner in her very first match. [f]

Carrie According to the Deseret News, football held a one hundred and two play scrimmage at LaVell Edwards Stadium. [f]

Cosmo Kalani Sitake says the offense won that scrimmage. [f] One hundred and two plays is a real workload, and Sitake liked what he saw from his team. [f]

Carrie Sitake also made a hire. [f] Marc Hill, a longtime figure in Kentucky athletics, comes on board. [f] Sitake has been vocal that the program needs more resources to compete in today's college landscape, and this is him going out and getting those resources. [f]

Cosmo Speaking of new faces, transfer receiver Kyler Kasper spoke candidly this week. [f] He stands six foot six, he spent four seasons at Oregon, and he was clearly frustrated with how those years went. [f] Now he gets a fresh start in Provo. []

Carrie Exactly. [] Alex Bower, Claire Little Chambers, and Brielle Kemavor all made that list. [f] That's a chip on the shoulder waiting to happen. []
